The Great State Fair of Oklahoma!

Well, it's the first day for the State Fair! Usually what does that mean for Oklahomans? Rain. Well, not just rain. :) There are so many activities that go on during the Fair! Not only do you have the carnival rides, but you have vendors with super cool crafts and goods, demonstrations of various products or talents (like blacksmithing, graffiti painting, Fire Fighter Training, or goat cheese soap making), a circus, an auto show, various musical entertainment, concerts, farm animal shows (from pygmy goats to horses), a petting zoo experience called 'The City of AGtropolis,' barrel racing, competitions, Native American dances, Disney on Ice, games you can play to possibly (may be) win a prize, and so, so, so many other activities that I can't even begin to describe. Not even joking, because I tried. I have provided you a link at the bottom of the blog that will direct you to a daily schedule of events. They really do have something for everyone.

If you don't go for anything else, you might as well go for the food. Wow food. Don't bring your Weight Watchers book or calorie counters here, 'cause "ain't nobody got time for that" at the State Fair: chocolate covered bacon, turkey legs, Indian Tacos, fried cheese curds, and anything you want on a stick that is deep fried and delicious should be available.

While you eat, you can stroll through the fairgrounds and people watch. Why would you want to people watch? Well, people are interesting. When a lot of people from all over come to one place, one should always take a moment to appreciate and enjoy all our differences.

Our State is a pretty cool place. We have a lot going on, and I hope you will take time to enjoy some local flavor!

Have fun at the State Fair!
